Chippy and Buttery Transferware Cafe au Lait Bowl

The shape, pretty transferware decoration and buttery timeworn charm combine to make this a very pretty piece.

While it's in chippy condition, with a chip to the base and also some cracks on the outside, it wears these flaws mixed with lightly stained crazing all over.

With a mark for HBCM on its base, this French earthenware bowl dates to the early 20th Century.
