Carved Wooden French Bread Platter

A nice example of a nicely carved vintage French bread platter, featuring a deep and intricately carved decorative border.

Ideal for display and also serving up freshly baked bread, this vintage French bread plate is in fair condition for its age. Featuring a carved motto around its border - Donnez Nous Notre Pain Quotidien, which translates to 'Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread' - this platter also stands out in the detail of the carved wheat across the bottom half of the plate.

This board has been finished in varnish, some of which has scratched across the surface from where this has been used as a cutting board. If desired, the board could be stripped of varnish to give a more rustic appeal.
