Carved English Breadboard

This is a great sized antique early 20th Century breadboard, with an unusual chip carved border featuring a geometric pattern of foliage.

Dating from the early part of the 20th Century, this large carved English breadboard has a worn patina to it, which blends with the rich colouring of the board. Although it is simple in style, it has a lovely rustic character to it.

In good antique condition, the board has been well used with lots of knife marks from use, which has created a worn patina to the centre and edge of the board. There are also some light stains in places, mostly notable around the border. But the board sits flat and is a great piece for ongoing use. .
