Buttery Pink Transferware French Terre de Fer Soupiere

A very pretty antique French ironstone soupiere bowl with a pink transferware floral pattern and buttery timeworn colouring.

With a Gien mark to its base, this fantastic soup tureen has buttery colouring and coffee coloured crazing all over, adding a unique timeworn patina. The pink 'Passiflore' floral pattern around the bowl and also featuring on the handles complements the age perfectly.

There is crazing and discolouration all over the bowl, but this is more notable on the inside, most likely from where it has been used over the years. There is a tight and fine hairline on one side, but this is stable. There are also nibbles and light chipping to the top rim, again no doubt from many years of use and love.

Perfect for use as a decorative antique around the home, especially for dried flowers or bulbs.
