A fabulous chunky ironstone confiture pot, with a Badonviller mark on its base dating it to the early 20th Century.
These are a beautiful shape for use around the home. Perfect for trinkets or to pop a dried hydrangea in.
This example has warm buttery tones running through it, which are lightly stained in places mixed with crazing, creating a unique timeworn patina.
This does have three cracks running down the side of it. These are all tight and stable. Having happened a long time ago, the result is more timeworn staining in these areas, again adding to the age of the piece.
There is also a small chip, just over 5mm wide, where the side of the pot meet the base.
Diameter, 1.5cm; Height, 9cm
