A gorgeous antique French large sized soupiere bowl with lovely sculpted handles and lots of timeworn charm and wear.

With a mark for Badonviller on its base, this fantastic terre de fer soup tureen dates to the early part of the 20th Century. Perfect for use as a decorative accessory around the home - for dried flowers or bulbs, it is a very attractive piece with lots of buttery colouring and stunning scuplted handles.

The soupiere is in fair condition of its age. Most notably, there are two cracks on one side of the pot running down from the top rim. These are old and stable, though, and they have actually weathered and taken on their own timeworn charm over time. There is also a smaller crack on the base rim, again this is stable. There are no chips but there is wear and some light scrapes to the glaze in places, most notably on each of the handles. There is lots of buttery coloured crackle glazing all over, which has created a unique and attractive patina.
