A lovely looking bouquetiere, a specialist French vase for displaying cut flowers in.
With two holes in the back for hanging, these vases were originally intended to be hung on the wall, with freshly cut small buds arranged in the flower frog section at the top.
With decorative patterns, these pieces look beautiful both with and without flowers.
This example dates to the early 20th Century and has a willow inspired pattern across it. Some of this has faded in places, but it is largely in tact. These vases are often in chippy condition, and this example is no exception. There are some chips to both the base and top rims. There is also a more significant knock to the back of the base rim but this doesn't affect the way it displays or stands up though. The piece has also suffered some discolouration over time, so there are some sections where the while glaze has yellowed.
