Antique White Ironstone Advertising Pot - Gibson Potted Meats, Edinburgh

This is a listing for a rare Victorian white ironstone Scottish advertising potted meat pot.

Featuring rarely seen advertising for R & T Gibson of Edinburgh, this pot dates from the late 1800s/early 1900s.

This is a great example of this scarce advertising pot, featuring a clear black transfer print highlighting the address of the Gibson potted meat manufacturers in a prime position at 93 Princes Street in Edinburgh, with lovely framing at each side of the typography.

The pot would have been used to sell the manufacturer's potted meats & bloater pastes.

Considered a throwaway item at the time it was produced, this pot is nonetheless in good clean condition. There is some light staining in places as well as some nibbles and a small chip to the base rim. However, overall it’s a very clean example with the transfer still very clear.
