This antique Victorian cleaver oozes quality and style.
Dating from the nineteenth Century, this is a beautiful cleaver which has a sharp steel blade with a wonderful hammered patina, and a turned wooden handle. It is a heavy and weighty piece, which adds to the overall quality.
Originally intended as a sugar or game cleaver, it is a wonderful country house piece of kitchenalia.
The handle has suffered some damage in its lifetime, with some notable splits and a repair. There are also old worm holes, but these have been treated. However, this is reflected in its pricing. Due to the damage, I'd recommend this is used as a display item.
Length, 29cm; Width, 7cm across blade; handle is 3.3cm in diameter.
