Antique Victorian Parian Ware Lidded Pitcher
Antique Victorian Parian Ware Lidded Pitcher
A stunning example of a parian ware plain white pitcher with a pewter lid, dating from the mid to late 1800s.
This white pitcher has a pewter lid, helping to ensure milk, cream or syrup stays fresh. Featuring simple, yet beautiful detailing of leaves and berries winding themselves around the jug, it’s a very striking pitcher.
Considering the age of this item,it is in excellent condition. The original pewter lid still operates well and there are no cracks or chips. The only, very minor, signs of age is some mild discolouration and age spots. There is also a small firing fault on the handle where a drip of glaze can be seen towards the base. On the whole, though, this pitcher is in nice clean condition.
