A lovely early Victorian example of a jelly mould featuring bunnies feeding.
Dating to around 1880, this ironstone mould is in lovely antique condition. The four bunnies are nestled together amongst grass and wheat. A marker showing the 1 pint size is on the back of one of them. Made of ironstone, it is heavier and more sturdy than some of the later versions of this mould you can find.
There are no cracks or chips on this piece. There is some light crazing on the top surface which has lightly stained, plus some minor knicks to the top of the bunnies' ears, no doubt from where it has been placed upside down when in use. But this adds natural timeworn charm.
Diameter, 14.5cm; Height, 8cm
