Antique Victorian Carved English Breadboard - Rosettes, Wheat & Barley

A beautiful timeworn example of an antique Victorian carved English breadboard.

Oozing faded charm, this breadboard has a beautiful rich colour and patination, which compliments the carved border beautifully. Although some of the definition in the border has faded, five rosettes can clearly be made out. Between them, wheat, barley and foliage are entwined together.

A highly decorative piece, the board also largely sits flat and so is still very usable as a cutting board or platter. It can be pushed down slightly to one side, but this doesn't affect its use in any way.  There are knife marks on the board from use, plus a small crack to the border on one side, although this doesn't penetrate all the way through.
