This French ironstone compote dish, dating from the early 20th Century, features a beautiful deep blue transferware border and is in mint condition.
Raised on a small footed stand, this terre de fer cake plate is perfect both for display and use. It has a mark for Salins on its base. The pattern features a pretty repetitive pattern flowering urns, interspersed with framed scrolls of cornucopia.
Apart from a small number of minor age spots on the surface, this is in excellent clean condition. There are no cracks or chips and the blue colouring is still deep and rich in colour. There is a small hole in the glaze on the base, but this is a firing fault and has been there since the time of production.
