Antique Sarreguemines White Ironstone Soupiere

A gorgeous antique French lidded soupiere bowl with lovely sculpted handles.

With a mark for the famous Sarreguemines factory on its base, this fantastic soup tureen dates to the early part of the 20th Century. It has fabulous scuplted cornucopia handles on each side and is in very clean condition.

There is some light crazing all over, as well as a small chip to the underside of the lid and some nibbles and light staining to the top rim of the bowl. There are a couple of minor firing faults and some light age marks in places (especially on the lid). Most notably, though, the lid finial has been repaired and glued back in to position.

Perfect for both ongoing use and as a decorative accessory around the home.
