This is a stunning aged and weathered antique English ironstone platter, dating from the late 19th Century, with a gorgeous timeworn charm and patina.
With a marked base for Robert Hammersley & Sons, this platter is in the Ascot pattern produced by the firm. It is a great large size, perfect for entertaining.
This transferware ironstone platter has taken on a natural weathered look over the years, with patches of coffee coloured staining all over. This complements the gorgeous grey black pattern on the piece.
Apart from the timeworn crazing, this platter is otherwise in very good condition. There are no chips or cracks and just some scuff marks to the base and edge from where it has been used. There is stained crazing all over.
A beautiful antique ironstone platter which is still very useful for serving food from but which also is a stunning item to display when not in use.
