Antique Large French L'ideale Canning Bottle

A gorgeous large antique French green bottle, dating from the early 20th Century.

This canning bottle is a rarely seen extra large version, designed for preserving foods. It features the L'Ideale brand name on one side, and the glass maker, Brevetee SGDG, on the other.

In lovely antique condition, it is a chunky and heavyweight item with some beautiful air bubbles. It is a fantastic piece to have displayed around the home.

The bottle is complete with its original black glass lid. This has unfortunately broken at the front. The remaining section is in tact but I would therefore urge caution about opening the bottle up, as this may cause additional damage.

Otherwise, the bottle is in good condition with no chips or cracks, with just some areas of age and discolouration.
