Dating from the early 20th Century, this is a very sweet example of an antique Italian florentine box.

Rather unusually for these boxes, where the patterns are often repetitive, this box features a painted floral decoraation to the top, with an ornate gilded border and green and gold colouring to the rest of the box. Although some of the florals have now faded, this is nonetheless still a very pretty box.  An original looped hinge remains, for opening and closing the lid.

Perfect for trinkets and jewellery, it is in excellent condition apart from the faded colouring to the top and some off knocks and scrapes, as to be expected from a piece of this age.
