A wonderful rare antique white ironstone French sauce dish with integrated fat separator.
Bearing a Badonviller mark on its base which dates this piece to around 1930, this is a lovely rare sauciere, with initials moulded into each end indicating where to pour the ‘Maigre’, sauce, and ‘Gras’, grease. Designed for gravy, it’s a beautifully shaped item. The typography is also typically French in style.
In aged condition, there is a chip to the underside of the top rim on the 'Gras' side. There is also crazing all over, some of which has lightly stained, although on the whole it is a clean example.
A great addition for collectors of antique French tableware.
