This is a stunning antique French ironstone lidded razor dish, dating to around 1900.
In beautiful condition for its age, this is a rarely seen ironstone French dish its original lid. Sourced from a private collection, this example was hand painted in dark blue tulips.
In lovely aged condition, there are no cracks or chips. There is crazing, which is mostly notable on the top of the lid, which has stained to a coffee colouring over time. There are some age marks on the piece, which can be seen on the inside base as well as the top of the lid.
Originally intended to hold razors in, this is still an immensely practical piece to have in any part of the home, perfect for use in the bathroom still perhaps for soaps or as a toothbrush holder. It would also make a perfect soap dish, trinket pot or jewellery holder.
