Antique German Ironstone Measuring Cup

A delightful white ironstone early to mid 20th Century measuring jug, originating from Germany, in lovely condition. 

A cute small sized jug, it can measure out up to 60 gramm - 60 grams in English. It was designed to be used to measure out small amounts in the kitchen or for use with medicines.

The jug is unusual, featuring gothic stylised typography both on the outside and inside. The effect is very pretty. The labelling of the different measures on the inside of the jug are particularly attractive and appears to have been hand painted. 

In overall good condition, the main signs of wear are some minimal marks and scuffs to the base. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. 

Overall, the black on white transfer showing the measurements displays really well and it is still an immensely practical and useful kitchen tool for use today. A perfect piece of kitchenalia!
