This is a fantastic naturally timeworn example of a rustic French white stoneware cheese curd strainer, used to make
Dating from the early 20th Century, this pierced cheese mould is an usual shape and a little taller than those I normally find. With some rustic crazing, this unique piece oozes charm.
Apart from light crazing all over the piece, some of which has stained on the inside base, this is otherwise in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some light wear to both the top and base rims but it is otherwise in good clean condition.
It is still a very usable pot, though and is an excellent way of adding a rustic feel to any interior, perfect for use as a tea light holder, soap dish or trinket pot. Or perhaps for continued use in making faisselles.
