Antique French Transferware Terre de Fer Compote Dish by K & G Luneville
Antique French Transferware Terre de Fer Compote Dish by K & G Luneville
This is a very pretty French ironstone compote dish, dating from around 1900, with a gorgeous timeworn charm and patina.
Featuring the green underglaze transferware Compiegne pattern by K & G Luneville, this has beautiful decoration of swans and banners around the outside, and a central emblem. Perfect for serving up canapes or desserts, or for use as a fruit bowl, this ironstone compote dish has taken on a natural weathered look over the years, with lightly stained coffee coloured crazing. This complements the gorgeous pattern on the piece.
The timeworn crazing is more notable on the top of the dish, together with some surface scratch marks. There are also a couple of small knocks to the top rim, including a small chips. However, this isn't overly notable and there are no cracks.
