A wonderful rare antique white ironstone French sauce dish with integrated drip plate likely to date from the 19th Century.

This French ironstone saucier has a wonderful timeworn colouring to it. A white ironstone piece, the colouring has crazed and stained over the years, creating a unique timeworn look. There s a delicate blue floral transferware pattern all over the piece. Unusually, the dish also has handles on each side which also feature the pattern.

Designed to be used for sauce or gravy, it is also a very nice decorative piece.

It is in good solid condition. There is a small chip on one lip, plus there are some areas of wear to the glaze, notably on the handles. There are also one crack to the glaze on one side but this does not penetrate through the piece.

and decorative item. t is larger than most examples I normally come across.

A great addition for collectors of antique French tableware or white ironstone who like their pieces with charm and patina.
