A beautiful signed and framed watercolour still life painting of a tablescape setting with florals.
Signed Y. Varin in the bottom right corner, this is a painting of the a vase of bright orange poppies or anemones, sitting on a table with some fruit and a tea cup. The background shows a bare tree or shrub through the window.
The use of light and colour on this painting is captivating. Housed in a simple wooden frame with a glass cover, it dates to the early part of the 20th Century.
The painting itself is in good condition although the frame has suffered some light wear to its edges. Most notably, there are two old worm holes on the frame but this has been treated.
There is a hook for hanging on the back of the frame. The painting itself has been secured by old nails which are a little loose towards the bottom half of the frame. Masking tape or additional nails could be added to secure it more.
