Antique French Small Stoneware Lidded Terrine

This is a gorgeous small antique French stoneware terrine dish, with contrasting brown ans ombre colouring, dating to the early 20th Century.

Complete with its original lid, this earthenware terrine dish or game pot is in fair condition for its age. There is crazing, wear, light surface scratched and staining to the glazed finish, but there are no cracks and chips and the dish is still very usable. The aged finish gives the piece a distinctive and unique look. 

There is a small hole in the lid to allow heat to escape when in use. While the maker's mark on the base is no longer recognisable, the lovely key emblem of the company still is.
