Antique French Signed Landcape Painting - River and Mountains

A beautiful early 20th Century oil painting on board, by a known landscape artist Gaston-Moreau.

Born in 1885, the artist has had many pieces sold at auction. This is a beautiful landscape painting, and the use of colour ad strokes draws you in to different areas of the painting. The impasto strokes bring the bushes in the foreground to life, and you can see the ripples and current running through the river. It's a very well executed piece of artwork.

In lovely condition, the edges of the board have been left free of paint as clearly the intention was for this to be framed. However, it is a beautiful piece which looks beautiful as it is.
