Antique French Signed Floral Still Life Oil on Canvas

This is a beautiful example of antique oil on canvas painting, featuring a still life of a vase overflowing with flowers. Signed by the artist in the bottom left corner (I do not recognise the name), this painting is a striking piece. The use of dark background colours contrasts against the vividness of the turquoise blue vase and, of course, the striking colours of the florals themselves, which are brought to life with texture in the oils. 

It's an eye catching piece of art work which is a great compact size for a wall or mantle shelf. The painting itself is also very old, most likely dating to the late 19th Century. It therefore does show signs of its age. This is mostly notable through some surface cracks on the paintwork of the canvas (but there are no splits) and some splashes of grey paint in the top left corner. For some reason a hook has been screwed into the right hand side of the painting but this could easily be removed.
