The charming timeworn condition of this set of six antique French kitchen canisters is very sweet.

Dating to the start of the 20th Century, they have been crafted in glazed barbotine (majolica), with beautiful raised relief poppies flowers taking centre stage on each pot mixing with gradient shades of green . Each label is highly decorative, in stylised gothic script. They are classically art nouveau in style and stand out with their scalloped shaped bases.

All six pots are full of character, with lightly stained crackle glazing adding warmth and a unique timeworn patina. Two of the pots have tight hairlines on their top rims, but these add to their timeworn charm. As they no longer have their original lids, these are ideally best used for decorative purposes and would suit being displayed in a country or rustic style kitchen. They all have general wear and some light nibbles in places, but this reflects a century of use and care.

The set comprises 'Farine' (flour), 'Sucre' (sugar), 'Sel' (salt), 'Café' (coffee), 'Farine' (flour), 'Thé' (tea) and 'Poivre' (pepper).
