Antique French Rustic Bentwood Measure

A nice rustic example of an early 20th Century French bentwood grain measure, designed to measure out 1 litre.

Originally, this had text across its front indicating that this measure was designed to weigh a litre of grains. However, this has rubbed away over time. Nonetheless, the measure itself remains in fair condition with no cracks or breakages to the wood and still with its original fittings. There is a metal band around the top. Although this has oxidised over time, the indent showing how the measure was validated as correct can still be seen.

The triangular maker's mark of Boisellerie Leger Poitiers appears on its base.

A lovely country piece to have on display in the home as part of a kitchenalia collection.
