Antique French Ribbon Cache Clous

I have four very pretty antique French ormolu finished cache clous available to purchase individually.

Such beautiful little French pieces, cache clous are designed to cover 'unsightly' picture hooks. They originated in the Napoleon III era to hide nails and add more grandeur to a picture when it was hung up.

They can of course continue to be used for this purpose. But they are fabulous little styling props in their own right.

Aside from slight tarnishing to the metalwork in places, all four are in lovely condition.
