Dating from the late 19th Century, these antique French chopping or herb boards are so highly sought after. And understably so! The shape, weight and practicality of use make them so appealing.

This example, made of oak, is a lovely wide shape. Its raised sides make it perfect for ensuring no food falls away from the sides while meals are being prepared. It is also extremely heavy so there's no risk of this moving around whilst in use either.

The board is in fair condition for its age. It has been well used, with a number of cut surfaces to the surface evident. There are a number of old worm holes across this piece. These are old and it has been treated but nonetheless the price has been reduced accordingly. There is also a small section at the back where a nail is loose. The wood is still secure here as it is fixed towards the bottom but you may wish to secure this further with an additional nail.
