Antique French Letang Fils Chocolate Mould - Dog Shape

This piece is for dog lovers out there, especially owners of golden retrievers.

Made by Letang Fils in the early 20th Century, this is a very rare two piece chocolate mould in the shape of a dog. With the details of its collar, smiling face and long coat visible, it's a wonderful collector's piece.

French chocolate moulds were created in all different shapes and sizes to celebrate different times in a person's life.

Complete with its original clips, this two-piece mould has some light wear but is in good overall condition. There is some tarnishing, plus some minor bending to the metalwork which means it doesn't quite sit flush together. But using an additional clip would help with this if you wished to make chocolate with this item. 

Although it has now faded somewhat, this mould has an imprinted maker's mark on the side for Letang Fils of Paris. The numbered design - 3335 - is also printed on the other side. Letang Fils was established in the early part of the 19th Century as a renowned manufacturer of culinary moulds.

It's a fantastic piece of French vintage decor to have on display in the home.
