Antique French Large Yellow Glazed Tian Bowl

A wonderful country French piece, sourced in Provence, this is an antique 19th Century tian bowl.

Made of terracotta, this large mixing bowl has been finished all over (apart from the base) in a warm yellow glaze. This ensured the bowl was resistant to stains and was easy to clean.

Showing signs of its age in a timeworn and rustic condition, this bowl is nonetheless a highly decorative piece. Perfect as a centrepiece in any part of the home.

There is wear to the glaze, which has crazed and discoloured in places over time. There are also some chips to the glaze in a number of places, as well as a chip the base rim. Most notably, though, there is a crack running down one side of the bowl. This isn't watertight but this earthenware bowl is still very sturdy.
