A gorgeous antique French large sized soupiere bowl with lovely sculpted handles.
With a faded terre de fer mark on its base, this fantastic soup tureen dates to the early 20th Century. It has fabulous scuplted handles on each side which, unusually, feature rosettes around them. Although it does show signs of age, it is also in quite clean condition. Perfect for use as a decorative accessory around the home - for dried flowers or bulbs.
The soupiere is in fair condition for its age. There are a few short hairlines to the top of base rims. But these are tight and don't all penetrate through. There is also crazing all over which is lightly stained in places, which is mostly notable on the inside of the bowl. There are a couple of odd firing cracks on the handles too, although these have been present since the soupiere was produced and don't affect its integrity in any way.
