Antique French Ironstone Milk Warming Pan

This is a gorgeous milk warming pan, a lovely tactile piece with lots of wear left in it.

Made of ironstone, this pan is designed to warm milk on the stove, for use individually or in cooking. The dark wood handle is held in place by a metal brace which sits around the top of the ironstone pot. 

Dating to the early 20th Century, this pan is in fair condition for its age. It is in largely clean condition, with some discolouration where the metal has been in contact with it and some light crazing and staining in places, mainly to the inside base of the pot from where it has been used.

There are a couple of small nibbles to the base but there are no chips. There is one very faint and tight hairline at the top of the pot but this doesn't affect its structure in any way and it is still very usable. There is also some light wear to the handle, where the varnish has come away in places.
