Such a sweet piece, this small oil painting on board depicts a typical French country scene dating to around 1900, with a child sitting to one side watching a grazing cow.

Sitting in a gilded frame, there's some nice detail in this painting. It has been signed by the artist in the bottom left corner and there also appears to be the same signature on the back, but both are difficult to read. 

The gilded frame has suffered some damage in its life, with some loss to the gilding in the corners. Nonetheless it still displays well. There is a hook for hanging on the back but this is loose and do would ideally need replacing or repairing.
