Antique French Floral Oil Painting on a Toleware Board

A beautiful example of an antique French floral oil painting upon a toleware board, likely to date from the early 20th Century.

This is a lovely example of a vintage oil painting, with the rich lilacs and purples of the poppies blending beautifully against the white echinacea and the greens of the foliage. The use of a toleware background and its slightly unusual shape, being longer in size than you would normally expect to find, really make it stand out.

There is some wear and scratches to the painting, which has led to the paint coming away in some small areas. However, this adds to the timeworn charm and patina of the piece. The toleware board has also suffered some knocks and slight bends over the years but this does add to the character of the piece.
