Antique French Classical Style Silver Plated Hatelet

Sourced from France, these were used as markers in large elaborate pies to add a decorative finishing touch. These are beautifully styled in a classical style. They were also used as brochettes, or skewers for grilled food.

Silver plated, they have tarnished and discoloured over the years giving them more of a bronzed effect than silver, although they could of course be polished if desired. The decorative ends are all hollow but they are nonetheless quite heavy and quality pieces. They are all marked H France & Co and date to around 1900.

Three of the skewers are bent in places and so are being offered at a reduced price. These also have more significant discolouration, with some green oxidisation in places.
