Antique French Art Deco Ormolu and Glass Frame

Dating to the early part of the 20th Century, this is a very attractive picture or photo frame.

These are such decorative pieces. Simple in style, this reflects the Napoloeon III style with the emphasis put on the quality of the bevel edged glass. The ormolu easel backed frame is elegant, standing on ball feet. Its design was intended to give maximum emphasis to the image inside the glazed panel

The frame has suffered some light wear over the years. It is still a highly usable and decorative piece but there are some nibbles on one side (at the top, middle and bottom) of the glass at the back rim. The ormolu has also faded and is tarnished in places although it still is an attractive colour.

It is in working order.
