A nice rustic example of a 19th Century French bentwood grain measure, designed to measure out half a double litre, or two litres.

Designed to measure out grains and pulses, this is a lovely rustic piece which would add to a farmhouse decor theme.

Although it has faded now, the lovely art deco black typography across its front can still be seen across its front. The original iron banding to the top rim is still in excellent condition, and all the original fittings remain in sturdy condition. A registration mark has been indented into the base, and there is a small indent to the iron banding, to confirm the measure was accurate and correct.

The measure is in fair condition with no breakages to the wood. There are some old wormholes, which are mostly notable across the front of the piece. However, it has been treated.

A lovely country piece to have on display in the home as part of a kitchenalia collection.

Diameter, 15cm; Height, 13.5cm
