A wonderful example of white ironstone ware at its finest, in excellent clean condition. Ceramic ham stands were commonly used in shops in the early part of the twentieth Century. They were used to display the meats and hams that provision and grocers shops had available for sale.

This plain white ironstone ham stand dates from early to mid 20th Century. In very good good condition, it is very clean. There are some minor scuff marks at both ends where it has stood up. plus two small knocks to the edge of the rim. There are no cracks or crazing.  There are also some small pock firing marks on one end.

These ham stands are great examples of plain white ironstone at its finest. It is a heavy and quality antique piece, which shows off the quality of ironstone. In a cotton reel shape, the styling is simple yet gives a very grand impression, and they make for excellent display pieces in their own right. Yet they are also so useful to proudly display meats on when entertaining too.
