This is a listing for a stunning Edwardian treen egg rack, dating from the early 1900s.

This English wooden egg rack is a wonderful piece of antique kitchenalia, with capacity to hold up to 24 eggs on a single tier. It was common for these racks to be used in the kitchens of large houses, where many eggs would be used daily. In fact, in Downton Abbey, the kitchen had an egg rack the same style as this, although it did run the entire length of the kitchen island.

Although it is of simple construction, this egg rack has is in excellent condition. It is one the best examples of this style of racks I've come across before, with a rich patina and colouring. One end has a few cracks to the wood but these are secure, with replacement screws having stopped them running further down the piece. There are no patches of staining. One leg is raised up very slightly but it is a very secure and sturdy itemhome.

In summary, this is a great piece of antique treen kitchenalia which is still perfect for use in the home today.
