Antique Edwardian Large Banded White Ironstone Dairy Jug - As Found
This is a great example of a large Edwardian white banded ironstone dairy jug. Although there is a crack to the handle, it is nonetheless a highly decorative piece.
This large banded jug is capable of holding six pints. Its large size makes it a perfect statement piece, which looks attractive displayed on its own but also doubling up as a superb vase for large bunches of flowers.
Considering this jug is more than 100 years old, this large banded jug is in very clean condition. There is no crazing, and it is largely in clean with just some age marks in places (mainly focused around the top rim, handle and spout). There is a small chip to the spout. Most notably, there is an unstable crack to the bottom of the handle and therefore care is needed when handling the jug. It is still very usable, but I would recommend not using the handle alone to carry it. This fault is reflected in the peice of the piece.
