Antique Edwardian Ironstone Measuring Spoon Advertising Cod Liver Oil Cream
A sweet little white ironstone antique Edwardian measuring spoon, featuring rarely seen advertising around its edge.
Produced in the early 20th Century, this white ironstone spoon has measures for a Dessert Spoon or Teaspoon. Designed to be used for Cod Liver Oil Cream, it has this plus the name of the chemist where it would have been purchased - R. Thomson of Elgin - in clear black typography around the outer top rim. Although it was designed for use with medicine, it is also perfect for use by a keen cook in a modern kitchen.
As they are quite small and delicate, they have often suffered damage in their lifetimes. This spoon does have a visible crack on the inside of the spoon, but this doesn't penetrate all the way through, instead there are just two small hairlines on the rim. It has been priced accordingly and is nonetheless still a very sweet little decorative piece.
