Antique Edwardian Express Dairies Milk or Cream Jug

A lovely antique Edwardian white ironstone milk jug advertising Express Dairies.

Dating from the very early 20th Century, this jug has striking blue initials on one side, and the design of the typography extends to a striped border around the top of the jug. The art deco style of the typography really stands out.

Made by J & G Meakin, the jug is in lovely antique condition. There are no cracks or chips but there is light crazing all over, which has stained over time around the top rim and on the handle. There is also a small fault to the glazing at the top where a small part of the border stripes have blurred.

Overall, though, this is a wonderful collectible piece of English kitchenalia.
