Antique Edwardian Bread Slicer

A lovely example of a bread knife or sliver made by the cutlers Martin Hall & Co, which is likely to date to the early 20th Century.

Martin Hall operated out of Sheffield, using the local steel to produce a range of silver and electro plated cutlery. This bread knife has a steel blade and an ornate electro plated handle.

Although the steel blade has tarnished from exposure to water over the years, it is still sharp and very usable. The handle is also quite clean for its age.
