A lovely example of a small early 20th Century trinket dish or butter pat made by Dunn Bennett & Co Ltd in the early 1900s.

This dish is in lovely condition, with no chips or cracks. It is decorated with the Shrewsbury School initials and their coat of arms. The school motto reads, “Intus Si Recte Ne Labora”, which translates as ‘if all is right within, trouble not’. The plate has a deep royal blue border with gold trim. It’s likely to have been given to a former pupil of the school.

An unusual, decorative piece of transferware, this would be an ideal present for someone with the same initials as the school.

There is light crazing all over the plate and some minor staining from use. There is some fading to the good trim but otherwise it’s a lovely example with the transfer still very clear.
