A very sweet set of white ironstone kitchen storage jar, made by the Stoke on Trent makers Gibsons in the early twentieth Century. Each canister is available to purchase individually.
Dating from around the 1920s, this set of labelled kitchen canisters is in very fine condition. This style of pot is quite hard to track down and this set includes some rarer labelled examples like ‘Salt’, ‘Peas’ and ‘Coffee’, all complete with their original lids.
With their bold print labels contrasting against a backdrop of sprig leaves, these are very attractive pots. They all bear the imprinted maker’s name for Gibsons on their base, with Jappa indicating the style of pot (which was also available in different patterns).
In excellent clean overall condition, these pots are available for sale individually. However, please contact me if you are interested in purchasing the entire set or more than one pot, as savings can be offered.
If you’d like to see additional close up photos of any of the pots available please let me know.
The pots available include:
CURRANTS: there is light crazing to the lid and two surface cracks to the glaze but these do not penetrate through as hairlines.
SALT: some light crazing to the lid. There is a small but tight hairline crack on the top of the pot about 3cm in length
PEAS: lovely overall condition, there are some patches of very light crazing on the lid as well as a small firing fault
COFFEE: Sold
CASTOR SUGAR: Sold
RICE: excellent overall condition
SAGO: lightly stained crazing to both the lid and pot
RAISINS: lightly stained crazing to both the lid and pot
Dimensions of each pot:
Height, 16cm
Width, 9cm
