This is a rarely seen example of a postal egg box - the 'Excelsior Egg Box' - dating from the early 20th Century.
This travelling eggs box is a lovely piece of antique packaging, and would make a great display piece to have around home. Each side of the box is clearly printed EGGS, in black typography. The top includes space for address details and the original packaging to keep eggs safe is in place.
Considering its age, and also the fact it is made of cardboard, this box is in overall very good condition. The top of the box has suffered some damage, it appears from having labels attached and peeled away. There is also staining a scuffs all over. However, the typography is still very clear and the original box fixings are in place.
