Antique Carved Wooden Butter Stamp - Strawberry

This is a lovely piece of antique treen kitchenalia dating from the early part of the 20th Century, with a carved strawberry and flower design.

This sycamore butter stamp or butter mould has a lovely warm patina and feel to it, with the carving the strawberry fruit and flower in exquisite detail. 

Antique butter stamps look lovely displayed as part of a kitchenalia collection. They are also excellent used in the modern kitchen as biscuit stamps. They work particularly well on shortbread.

The butter print is in fair condition, with a nice warm colour to the wood. There has been some damage to the handle and it has been reattached at some point in its lifetime. Although it is solid and usable still, this does mean the handle sits at a slight angle and the very centre of the mould has been lost.
